I only got one video. My fat fingers had troble holding down the botton and I lost Josh getting his front tires over. Oh and I got a picture of the bandaid it was still there when I pulled in the yard... :thumb:

Nice run today. The overcast cooled things down a bit. Ashman, Tice & Wheeler, Brody, and my bro-in-law & I made it. Two other guys (Jim in his Tacoma and John in his 4 door Wrangler) joined us. Hopefully they'll be getting on the forum soon.

Pretty easy run, with a little carnage. I broke the welds on the bottom of my steering box mount again, which lead to some fun times trying to turn left. I drove it out that way. Brody lost the nut on the bottom of one of his rear shackles. They used the high-lift to get the tension off enough to get the bolt back through the other side of the shackle and then used a tie-down strap (and a band-aid) to hold it together until he could get it home. Dave put a nice V into his pretty chrome side steps on his big dodge tow rig when he came down on a good sized boulder (SHH!... Don't tell Angela!). Tice made it all the way off the trail before he started having fuel problems. Everyone made it home OK.

I should have my steering fixed in the next day or so. Depending on my Dr. visit this week and my wife letting me out of the house I might be up for something next weekend.

My front drive shaft did fine on the way up, but downhill it was hitting really bad. It finally knocked the header loose from the rest of the exhaust pipe. Now I have a bad exhaust leak. I think I'll get rid of the flange right there, weld it up, and then cut the exhaust and add a flange further back so I can still remove it.

Thats a fun trial for a full size with open diffs :flipoff:
Id rate the trail about a 3.0, With 6 rigs we left at about 8AM and finished at 12.

Afew spots took afew tries with no locker, I got some step bar damage and a hub cap fell off.

I was fun to get Josh out with the Fj for the first time. It did well.

We came to a tree at the top of the next hill, josh tried to drive over it but we had to move it to the side of the rd.

Comming down into black tail there were some off camber spots and another down tree.

Looks like a great run!! Sucks I couldn't make it. I'm definitely in for next weekend!! Should have my motor mount lift in by then to, so no more oilpan/trans skid bumping the oil pan :D :naughty:

Where would we go? Night run?

We could go here:

Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side and a dark side and it holds Tice's truck together.

I don't forget, my brain just disregards insignificant details in my sleep.

Friend and Inspiration..RIP Josh.

Not worth the drive for easy runs. I hope to get up to the Tucson/Phoenix area for some good wheeling soon. We'll keep you posted on the runs down here too though.

I wouldn't mind heading down there for a run, I have an 02 Tacoma on 31's so easy is about all I can do anyhow. I still haven't had a chance to meet up with you yet, when I came down to work on the truck you were still in the hospital. Plus getting out on the trail is always a good time and even though I may run into Tice, it would still be worth it :flipoff:

I'm glad to see Josh has his rig out and playing with it! I had to laugh at the comment on the Video about getting hung up on a stick!
Josh, check your steering travel, if the steering hits it's limits befor the steering box then it'll sometimes tear the mounts loose like what I see in the pictures!
Hopefully I'll get my rig back together soon! It's getting there.
Jeff at Ballistic is supposed to get my bead locks cut out this week on his new laser cutter!

I owe it all to you guys. Without your work I wouldn't be out driving it yet.

As far as the steering, the welds just didn't penetrate the metal That's what caused it to crack and separate. Hopefully I'll have it fixed on Friday.
